to the Hague
and back
First lesson at eight, secondary music school in Tuzla, then two conservatoires in the Netherlands — and the decision to come back.
He continued his studies at Conservatorium Codarts Rotterdam in the class of Dick Hoogeveen and at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, where he qualified as Bachelor and guitar teacher in the class of Enno Voorhorst in 2003 and took his Master of Music in 2005. Along the way came masterclasses with John Williams, Julian Bream, Scott Tennant, Carlo Marchione, Roland Dyens, Zoran Dukić and Paco Peña, and first and special prizes at competitions.
He has performed across Europe as a soloist and as a member of the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the Zeeland Philharmonic and the ensemble Mediterranean Sundance.
Since returning to Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2005 he has taught at the music schools in Brčko, Bijeljina and Srebrenik, where a classical guitar department opened for the first time when he arrived. His students have won a large number of prizes at national and international competitions, and several have continued at music academies across Europe. Today he lives in Tuzla and teaches guitar at the secondary music school there.
Alongside the concerts: the music for 40 episodes of the documentary series Putevi — zapis o zemlji after Mak Dizdar, two albums of his own released through CD Baby, and original scores for the theatre, among them Tajkun, Enigmatske varijacije, San ljetnje noći, Tri riječi and Medeja. He founded Guitar Fest Tuzla, which he still directs, and chairs the cultural association Eminent.
